HOUSEKEEPING TEAM MEMBER (Part-Time)
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Staff position is a part-time position responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, orderly, and welcoming environment throughout White House Retreat ("WHR"). This role ensures that guest rooms, common areas, offices, and service areas meet WHR standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation. The Housekeeping Staff supports the mission of WHR by contributing to a hospitable retreat environment.
This position reports to the Housekeeping Team Leader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs routine and deep cleaning activities, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, window washing, laundry, and ironing.
· Ensures guest rooms, meeting spaces, offices, and common areas are cleaned, prepared, and inspected in accordance with WHR standards.
· Monitors the condition of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment; reports damages, deficits, or safety concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
· Uses cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials properly to protect WHR property and ensure longevity of equipment.
· Maintains appropriate stock levels of cleaning supplies and consumables and notifies supervisor when replenishment is needed.
· Responds professionally and courteously to reasonable guest or staff requests and concerns related to housekeeping services.
· Adheres strictly to WHR health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
· Operates housekeeping-related hand tools and power equipment (e.g., vacuums, carpet cleaners, floor scrubbers) as required to perform assigned duties.
· Works assigned hours as designated by the , including flexibility to meet operational needs.
Standards of Performance
· Completes assigned tasks with attention to detail and consistency while meeting established time and quality standards.
· Works independently with minimal supervision while coordinating effectively with supervisors and other staff.
· Follows written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures accurately.
· Maintains professional conduct, punctuality, and reliability consistent with WHR expectations.
Working Relationships
· Works collaboratively with other housekeeping staff, maintenance staff, and retreat house personnel.
· Communicates regularly with the Team Leader regarding scheduling, priorities, and facility needs.
Other Duties
· Participates in training related to safety, cleaning procedures, or WHR policies as required.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by the Team Leader in support of WHR operations.
